1,207 metric tons of Tuna landed in 2003

An information I didn't know. According to the Bureau of Oceanic Fishery of the Ministry of Resources and Development, a total of 1,207 tons of sashimi-grade tuna and reject tunas were off-loaded by the three domestic fishing companies in 2003. The data comes from only the PITI, PMIC, and KFC. The license and tax fees of the fishing companies and their catches amounted to a total of $1,279,185. Sashimi-grade tuna must meet the highest standard of inspection and be airlifted quickly by the departing airline to the markets in Japan. Rejected tuna are frozen and shipped later to tuna canneries in Asia.
