Palau Horizon (May 24 - 26) reports that Del. Toribiong has asked PNCC, PPUC, PCC to stop the practice of providing medical insurance to their employees from their allocated budget. "It seems unlikely that providing medical insurance , positively contributes in anyway to the national government". For PNCC he says that "I must inform you that I feel this practice is contrary to the purpose and intent of PNCC contrary to the legislative intent established for a statutory corporation". He argued in his letter to PPUC that providing medical insurance from revenue, "especially with the high cost of electrical services, positively contributes in anyway to provide electrical power at a reasonable price".
Q: And the $6K salary raise is a positive contibution? I guess enough to get medical coverage for the whole family and even more.
