Philippines exports to Palau reached $7.27 million from January to November 2006...the amount nearly doubled compared to the figures of 2005. The Philippine exports consisted of construction materials, bathroom fixtures, processed food and furniture. On the other hand the imports from Palau reached $209,465 from January to October 2006. Philippine Ambassador to Palau Romancito Marino said that the increase in exports may be due to the Asian Spirit flights which travel three times a week to Davao from Koror. The flight started in April 2006...a "trade desk" is being considered which would research trade and investment opportunities and gather business related rules and regulations. It would also enable to further promote Philippine fruits, construction materials, fruits, personal products and household goods.
