Hatohobei is very far and that the people there are lacking a lot of things. I am saddened by this news and the effect that it has to those living there. Still Justice must be served and a lesson to all.

Good Job Public Auditor...

Mesulang,

Mosi,

There are less then ten (10) people in Hatohobei. this is a clear case for combining Hatohobei, Sonsorol and angaur as one state!!!LOL!!

Did this boat ever got fixed and sent back there? Must have been a boat for all to see. Why don't they put these people involved in the boat and send them off. I'm sure it has all it's gadgets installed to withstand the weather. How sad that we all are facing hardship now because of some idiots who probably went to the Philippines to prove their manhood. Man, if you don't have it by now, it's not going to appear magically.

Wait a minute, I think I saw this boat similar to it's description in that Pirates movie, where it was used to confiscate some long lost golds. Well, we might justn have payed off this boat for a reason. Anyone knows what this boat is named after?

And for those Palauans going to Seattle to join celebrate our president's day, let's bring our questions and concerns for our president to address. See you all there.

Uchelmelis I agree with you on these one. I been talking about these for years. Combined them together and may be the Nat. Gov. might save some money,or give it to Koror State since most of them live in Koror.

A doltirakl a siukang ea aikal teblol beluu a beluu ra Oreor. A mle tara uchul a Joshua Koshiba ma Baules dimlak el saing ra Constitution a ultekengir el kirel aikal teblong el beluu el mirruul el mo "state." We should give thanks to Badrei Yaoch for this problem!!

Mosi,

What's so surprising about mismanagement and corruption occuring in Hatohobei State.

Corruption and mismanagement has been a way of life in Palau this last 16 years and it is the legacy of the KN and TR Admiistration.

There has been so much wrong doing and injustice that has been swept under the rug over the past 16 years that it will take years for the JT Administration to fully uncover and put right. It breaks my heats to say that even the judiciary in neck deep in it, and that is the worse cut of all.

Thank God we now have a Preident that is honorable and well versed in law, hopefully JT will change this mindset of the Wild Wild West.

I don't know my friend,

You can't let the few bad apples taint the whole tree. You would end up infecting the whole tree by making the good ones look bad. That is not a good line of thinking if I may say...

Mesulang,

Siukang er Oreor malechub eng siukang ra Hatohobei ma Sonsorol e Uchelmelis?

As far as this issue goes, it isn't just Palau and Micronesia that has corruption and misuse of funding. All countries experience it in one way or another. Palau is just small enough to be noticeable and because of siukang and family, it would be hard to hide it from the rest of the population.

I am surprise that they didn't find out about the budget of Sonsorol till now. It so small but how can they miss these. I guess we persecute the ex governors and rain check on the PA. Just my idea

Thanks

Belochel

Tilecha meral tekoi e Uchel,

Mesulang,

I know how to solve this problem, build a casino there! *sarcasm

Put it in proper perspective. Most older palauan men in positions of authority are not so good in the paperworks. We are all like mockingbirds but only Uchel is the Palauan Myna bird. LOL

So it looks like all the elder statesmen of Hatohobei will be put in jail cause they have been playing musical chairs with their government positions all these years...from one cousin to another. Consolidate the states already.

Mousubes ea Zakarias a di mle nurse aid e ngoriakl mo Governor. Ma lebochang end di kea lodengei el kmo tia ngorus, ngoluches lobang.

Mosi,

This is not a case of a few bad apples. This is a case of a few good apples!

The solution is to cut down the tree and grow a new one.

okay, so the tobian gov't misused tens of thousands...what about the national gov't misusing millions? hundreds of thousands misused on stimulus packages on projects that constituents don't even know about. this boat is a necessity for this state. too bad the gov didn't go the right route.

A edil meral ebuul a obekuk/sechelik ra Zakarias. Ko kemiu erngii, elkora oungelakel ra oluches ma orus...ng kora etik a orus..lol. Kora mlo saok el mean ra tara bedengel orus....wahahahhaha!

Audit, Audit, Audit, Auditor!!!! Who was in charge of auditing the national government let alone states government? And even if that person brought up the possible misuse of funds, his/her job security may have been compromised should he/she breath a word of possible gov't corruption. Hatohobei's problem is just a small part of the bigger problem. Don't you think? Then again, I could be wrong. Don't have all the facts so just commenting based on the presented information in here. Just my 5cents.

Uchelmelis,
Ngkal Badrei ng kmal mesisiich el di mle ngiil tang a remuul a ikal beluu el mo states? Ngdimlak a votes rar bebil rar delegates? Ng locha mle idea ra Badrei, ngdi te rua techa dirrek el kilngei. Me llak moltelchakl ra Badrei. Ko mle betok.

Whatever;

He was the author... That is all. Read whatever you want into it.

...whatever!!!

uchelmelis,

Whatever said brother about baseball. If you were in saipan then you know the truth so tell the truth and dont lie. Oh and you know what we do our best for our country in baseball and people like you are just some of the palauans who dont appreciate what we do. You like to call yourself a palauan but you do not have any pride for this country. And believe me everyone fails sometimes and being a palauan we help each other get back up and start over again. So come on tell the truth if you were really in saipan and dont paint things on everyone.

PML..

PML,

Are you sure you're posting in the right thread?

Well since they all live in Koror, why don't we relocate the rest to Echang, sell each of the Southwest Islands for about oh maybe $25 million per island to wealthy millionaires, use a portion to purchase new generators for PPUC, pay off all of the National Governements debts and invest the rest for future use, there all our problems solved............and Palau's saved $$$$.

and in the process of selling the sw islands, palau loses half of its EEZ???

It is simply beyond common sense to have a so-called state with a population of less than the people living at Choll in Ngaraard with an annual budget of hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is simply a waste of money and now it is misuse of monies. Sometimes these people are so freaking arrogant that they shun their nose at us while abusing tax payers monies. The question now is if there is anyone in the Toribiong administration who have the balls enough to do something about this. Where is the SP when we need him?

Bekai,
With all due respect to you and the residents of the Southwest Islands, "these people" are Palauans and we should all respect each other in this discussion. I for one am very happy to have friends and relatives from the SW Islands; they are not all corrupt.

We should focus on the practicality, as you have said, of having separate states such as Hatohobei, Sonsorol, even Angaur. I've angered some in saying this, but lets be real. Cultural differences between the Sonsorolese and the people of Hatohobei should be respected though, but practicality should be considered.

Bekai,
