Now that is what I call taking action! Cover all these loop hole's that allows our elected leaders to manipulate the system.

It's a waste of tax payer's money and a slap on the public's face.

Kudos to you Senator Asanuma. Keep up the good work and consider one guaranteed vote from me to you.

Mesulang,

I also just want to add that this will be a barometer to all members of OEK. Whom or who ever tries to stand up and manipulate or shoot this bill down will be....To me has self enriching personal issues. No votes from me to anyone of them.

A step in the right direction but take it further and define what are considered public monies as this has always been the trapdoor to individual riches for the priveleged few. You all know who they are and what they have become.

Public Officials? Does this mean OEK Members, President and HIS Cabinet Officals?

If this bill does happen. Lets it be enforced on the President first before moving on to the lower ones. Most of the corruptions starts from the top then to the bottom. People THAT WERE HIRED BY THE PRESIDENT DURING NON PAYDAY GOV'T HAVE learned that no matter what CORRUPTIONS they HAVE CAUSED AND GET AWAY WITH, THEY ARE SAFE UNDER THEIR PAPAS' BLANKET.

THE WAY I LOOK AT IT THESE DAYS, IT DOENS'T MATTER FOR OTHERS TO GET EDUCATED OR HAS WORK EXPERIENCES. THEY CAN JUST GET IN ANY POSITIONS THEY WANT THROUGH THE PRESIDENT. THIS I'VE SEEN EVER SINCE HE TOOK HIS TERMS.

WHY DON'T SOMEONE DO A SURVEY ON HOW MANY FAMILY MEMBERS OR RELATIVES IN THE GOVERNMENT OFFICE HAVE BEEN HIRED EVER SINCE HE TOOK THE OFFICE AND WHAT POSITIONS THEY HOLD AND HOW MUCH SALARY THEY MAKE AND HOW MANY SALARY INCREASES THEY HAD OVER THE YEARS.

Charlie,

I'm a bit shocked! There's more educated people out there. Does it mean that only the president family are the only educated people here in Palau to be in these positions. Tiang ng di kabelment rar melomes el blai ekid el chemoit a temed el melai a skuled a diak a basio er kid era ikal lureor ra amt. Meked mei loba degree er kid e diak a techall meke de apply ra ua surangel el melemd a tana.

Chetertork,

That is the trend Chetertork. If you have your degree el melemed a tana e ngbai ungil a omolemed a tana, whether its Surangel, Shopping, Asanuma or Chia Tai Shop. At least you are putting your degree to work.

Unless you have a degree in working in the government, then there is a problem if the government does not hire you.

If I were you, I would change my major to working in the government from melemed a tana so you would have a basis for complaining.

Chetertork,
that is a destructive myth that need to be put to rest. please name one palauan that came home with a degree and have no where to go and place in the government. Palau need as many educated people as possible and there have many of us who have come home and have gotten good job even though we know nobody from the higher ups of the government. if you have a degree in education/environment/tech/medical/legal field please got to those bureaus they need you, their waiting for you....the key thing is to stop whining and do something about it...you will be amazed at how easy to get a good paying job (palau standard)if you come home with an education...
